So here we are on the second page. Hopefully this is moving along fine.I really doubt it. I normally run into a few snags along the line.
This is usually the time where I'll show the other parts that will be put on the marker. This is a complete face lift. By this time I'll know what's going to work and what's not. Things will change, so I can get it down to what I want or what is actually possible. Nothing is written in stone.

Freak Back / SP AA 12" Camo Barrel (also milled Freak back)
Here's the Freak Back And the SP Raptor barrel. It took a while for the Freak Back to arrive due to mail service. I have done test drilling and tapping for re-threading. If you notice in the Top right of the picture you will see that I have milled the Freak back to fit. That task is out of the way. UPDATE: 02 June 05 Here are the most current pictures. I have tapped it with 7/8-14 threads. It worked perfect. That thread is for RAPTOR threads only. Sterling threaded barrels will not work with the 7/8-14 threads. So this part is done. I was able to do this myself. If you are not familiar with hand tools I would seek someone who knows how to use them. |
Pump enlargement / Freak Mod / SP Barrel Mod
I have milled my own pump. Actually I have a mill. I'm just kind of scared to use it. So that is out of the way now. Was unable to get acrylic pump made. Maybe later on. Well now I have under cocking. I'm thinking of changing the pump style. A guy on the net has attached a cocker pump to his sterling.

Back From milling
This is normally my last stage. The body is milled and polished. Rainman was able to do a two day turn around. I got lucky he wasn't very busy. For the shape of the body and the abuse it took over the yrs as a rental, the milling only improved the look and gave it a little style.

Off to the anodizer
Back to Rainman 229. What it will look like I have no Idea. We let his wife pick out the colors. I guess I'll be really surprised when it comes back. |
Back from anodizer
Just a little ahead of myself here. This is one of the first images from Rainman229. I thought he did an excellent job. I'll post more when it arrives.
